This is the first time David Tennant and Billie Piper haveappeared in the series since their farewells in 2010. The special willbe a celebration for long-time fans and an opportunity for those new tothe series to jump onboard.
Matt Smith, who plays the Doctor, said: "The Day of the Doctor isnearly here! Hope you all enjoy. There's lots more coming your way, asthe countdown to the 50th begins now."
