　　影片的套路非常像《大话西游》。蒙迪佩登是英国著名喜剧班子，本片攻克对象是亚瑟王题材，将这个古老传说变成搞笑的源泉，颇有点早期伍迪艾伦的味道。比较粗糙，水平参差不齐，但喜剧才华不容忽视。

·在影片剧组准备到外景地拍摄的两周前，苏格兰环境署突然收回允许Python拍摄城堡的许可，理由是影片历史与建筑不相符，剧组只好费劲脑汁以一当十，其中亚瑟王的卡默洛特城堡、Swamp城堡、Anthrax城堡、法国城堡和片头城堡的室内场景都是在杜恩城堡拍摄完成，很多房间在重新装修后重新使用。而Constitutional Peasants城堡和卡默洛特城堡的外观都是由10英尺高的胶合板建成，一阵风都能吹倒。

·第一个扮演黑骑士的演员是约翰·克莱斯，在被亚瑟王砍腿之后，黑骑士被换成由独腿演员扮演，这个演员是当地的银匠。

·亚瑟王到达第一座城堡和兰斯洛特向Swamp城堡飞奔的场景拍摄于伦敦汉普特斯西斯公园，这个公园是伦敦有名的“同志公园”。

·在影片剧组进入Glen Coe山区之后，唯一一台同期摄影机出现故障，所以拍摄的画面没有声音，而扮演亚瑟王的格雷厄姆·查普曼又因酗酒的副作用而出现震颤性谵妄，于是只好由第一助理导演代劳。

·一些剧本中的场景没有拍摄。

·在剧本的初稿中，亚瑟王和他的骑士们在哈罗斯结束寻找圣杯之旅，哈罗斯是伦敦著名的百货公司。
