【游戏介绍】

　　《GTA IV》的主要场景以美国纽约市为原形设计，逼真还原了纽约绝大部分的风貌（纽约市五个区中有四个将出现在游戏中），但在本中所有街区和地名都被进行了修改。比如，原先的曼哈顿大桥在游戏中叫做阿尔冈琴大桥（Algonquin Bridge），布鲁克林区被改为布洛克区（Broker），皇后区改名为公爵区（Dukes），就连美国标志性建筑之一的自由女神像也被改头换面叫做幸福女神像（Statue of Happiness）。整个城市的面积没有圣安德鲁斯大，但是在细节上要远胜过前者，而且游戏中只有大都市，没有郊区或荒野一类的地方出现。

　　游戏中出现的行人（NPC）将比系列所有前作中的都要逼真得多，他们有的坐在公园长椅上，有的抽着雪茄，也有的边走边读着书……所有的NPC都会像现实世界中大城市的市民一样做着各自的事情。Rockstar的开发小组表示，先前公布的游戏影像中出现的画面并非最后的完成版，游戏实际效果将比现在还要出色。

　　在游戏故事背景方面，据Rockstar官方介绍，本作的主人公Bellic是在其堂兄Roman的劝诱下来到自由城的，Roman吹嘘自己在自由城过着天堂一般的生活，拥有华丽的豪宅、数十辆高级跑车以及众多美女陪伴……然而当Bellic到达自由城后才发现，原来这位堂兄除了他这个同样落魄的穷亲戚以外根本就一无所有。

　　GTA 4很多要素在PC上得到了加强。

　　首先，画面的最大分辨率高达2560X1600（360版为标准的720P,而PS3版还不到），PC版拥有家用机版的所有特效，而且视距更远，纹理更加细致。

　　然后，PC新增加了重播模式，你可以随时观看你最近30分钟所做的任何事情。在任何事件你都可以按下一个键去捕捉一段视频。然后你可以自己编辑剪接这些视频，并且上传到Rockstar的Social Club网站上去。

　　但最主要的是，多人模式得到了加强。Rockstar宣布多人游戏可以支持超过16个玩家，多于家用机版。PC版会加强搜索和过滤功能，让玩家快速准确的找到自己想要的游戏。
