简介：
     狐狸河州立监狱-----一座铜墙铁壁。重兵把守，一切世之邪兽，刑囚其中，永世不得翻生之所，它将司法之公允，刑罚之严正表露无遗。然而天法有疏，地法有漏，冤狱终成。Lincoln Burrows自小背亲离家，爆烈街头，此时终尝堕落苦果，遭奸人污陷，被控谋杀总统之弟，身背死刑，囚于狐狸河州立监狱。正当困兽呜嚎，百般绝望之际，其弟Michael Scofield力挺其兄，坚信Lincoln无辜。怎奈奸计森严，无法突破，眼看死刑之期临近，Michael决定破釜沉舟，先以设计工程师身份取得监狱蓝图，之后佯装抢劫银行，被抓后，要求进入狐狸河州立监狱，数天后，两兄弟牢笼相见，困兽之血就此沸腾，一场与时间飙速的终极越狱倒数进行......
      然而天有它算，监狱内，Michael的独狼行动，招惹来了一批各有谋算的监狱困兽，有爱情重伤的牢友Sucre、前任黑帮老大Abruzz、嗜杀的恋童癖T-BAG、天地线C-Note和Charles Westmoreland，他就是Michael一直猜测的劫机犯D.B. Cooper。不得已之下Michael只得与他们共存亡。
      监狱外，Michael的唯一的盟友，他的辩护律师，也是Lincoln的前任女朋友---Veronica Donovan正在飞速奔跑。一边保护着Lincoln的儿子，一边找寻翻案证据，但随后的线索，却令她大吃一惊：因为一切的焦点直指白宫，特工Paul Kellerman和极度渴望独揽大权的副总统Caroline Reynolds，而Lincoln案的主角,已被谋杀的副总统弟弟却仍然活着......
      历经千难万险，兄弟俩和6名牢友，终于逃出生天。但有胜利便有牺牲，Michael背叛了待他如子的狱长Henry Pope，并把对他有好感的监狱女医生Sara Tancredi拖下了水，为此Sara一蹶不振，重新投入毒品的怀抱。
      在越狱过程中，关键人物Westmoreland丧命，但在临死之前，告之Michae，他就是D.B. Cooper的事实，并提供了抢来的500万巨款的隐藏线索。
      狱墙之外，他们的逃亡变成一场名副其实的夺命狂奔，特工Paul Kellerman、FBI特工Alexander Mahone、前任狱警Brad Bellick，以及这一切的始作俑者"公司"，都在追捕这一干人等。在逃亡中各有死伤。最终，因为特工Paul Kellerman的良心发现，从而真相大白，Lincoln被洗刷冤曲，重获自由。但Michael却被"公司"黑手再次设计，与FBI特工Alexander Mahone一起关入巴拿马最臭名昭著的重刑犯监狱，当进入监狱内院的大门被开启时，一道道散发着妖邪之气的死光笔直地射向Michael那即将被黑暗吞没的身体，新的血战已经开始..........
