幕后制作

在《法柜奇兵》面世之后，好莱坞掀起了一股冒险动作热潮，本片是此类影片中的佳作，也是《阿甘正传》导演早期崭露头角之作。本片采取出入于“现实”与“幻想”的天马行空结构成为日后众多影片模仿的楷模，而男女主角的“火花”飞迸，台词机智俏皮。1985年的续集《尼罗河宝石》（The Jewel of the Nile）保持原来的演员阵容，但换了导演。
